Everything You Need to Know Before Attending A BTL Show

Cameras/ Videos

Electronic Devices/Cell phones
All electronic devices (phones, tablets, digital cameras, etc.) must be turned off before the show begins.
Children and Seats/ Tickets
Each child, regardless of age, must have a ticket and sit in their seat during performances. Children who sit in another person’s lap block the view of the person behind you. Children should not be allowed to run around during the show. Learn more about children and theatre on our Theatre Etiquette page.
Doors Open
Our lobby doors open 60 minutes prior to show time. Come early for parking and to get drinks and concessions The seating area generally opens 30 minutes prior to showtime.
Show length
The length of each show varies. Please check our upcoming events/ show pages or give us a call at 256-518-6155 if you have questions about show length. Shows generally run for around 2 ½ hours with an intermission.
BTL Box Office
The BTL box office is located across from the concert hall lobby doors and opens one hour before show time. This is where you pick up Will Call Tickets and purchase day of show tickets.
Food and Drink
No outside food or drinks may be brought into the Concert Hall. Food and Drink are allowed in the lobby area. Drinks are allowed in the Concert Hall in designated, covered containers served from the concession area. Food is not allowed in the Concert Hall. Please plan your food purchases accordingly. There are many great dining options near the theatre!

Dress Code
Broadway Theatre League has no specific dress code for attending performances. Dress varies widely from casual to suits and dresses. Gone are the days when formal-wear and ball gowns were the norm; we do, however, encourage you to use your theatre date as an occasion to dress up if you would like.
Coat Check
There is a Coat Check available inside the Concert Hall lobby area, to the right.

Parking Passes
If you have a BTL Parking Pass, it is valid in the South Hall parking garage ONLY. It cannot be used in the Handicapped parking area in front of the VBC. It is valid for season shows only, unless you have a pass specifically for season extra shows.
Dining AT the VBC
There is now a restaurant at the VBC! Come early or stay late and dine at Rhythm on Monroe. It is located next to Mars Music Hall in the VBC and it just steps away from the Concert Hall!
